Summer programs

Boredom has officially left the building! This summer, the Gallup Children’s Museum is creating fun with hands-on adventures, wild experiments, and endless curiosity for the month of June.

 

In the mornings, GCM is hosting NM Summer Reading Program in the mornings from 8:00am-12:00pm. This FREE program offers structured literacy instruction for kids from Kindergarten through 3rd grade Monday through Friday.

New Mexico Summer Reading program

Ready to become a super reader? Whether you are a curious kindergartener or a thoughtful third grader, this 4-week reading program will hone your super reading powers to new heights. The Gallup Children’s Museum is excited to be a host sight for the NM Summer Reading Program, where kids can work in groups of 4 with an instructor to make reading fun, engaging, and fitting for your child’s learning style. This program runs from June 2nd-27th and is first come first serve. 

FREE | Mon-Fri | 4 weeks | 8:00am-12:00pm

  • What ages are the NM Summer Reading for?
    The Gallup Children’s Museum is hosting kids from kindergarten through 3rd grade. If you are looking for summer reading programs for kids 4th grade to 8th grade, please click the NM summer reading program website for other host sights in Gallup.
  • I have more questions!

  • If I signed up on the Summer Reading Website, do I need to sign up with Gallup Children’s Museum?
    No, we will have a list of students who have signed up with the New Mexico Summer Reading Program.
  • Will there be food provided?
    No, children will need to bring a snack and lunch with them.
  • If I sign up two of my kids, will they stay together?
    No, children will be grouped with kids at a similar reading level. However, children will interact at the children’s museum at various times throughout the morning.
  • What happens during Summer Reading Program?
    Children will be in groups with 4 kids and an instructor. The instructor will be using a curriculum called Magnetic Reading to help guide your child in the science of reading.
  • Will there be transportation for my child?
    No, children will need to be dropped off at the children’s museum between 8:00am-8:20am and pick-up time will be from 11:40-12:00
  • How do I add a new question & answer?
    To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.
  • How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?
    You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
  • Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?
    Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.
